BATH RICHFIELD KIWANIS AMTRYKE PROJECT

The Bath Richfield Kiwanis provides custom-designed and assembled Amtryke tricycles for children with special needs. Paralysis, muscular diseases and childhood defects make it impossible for these children to ride regular bikes. Each Amtryke tricycle is custom designed for these children to allow them to use physical skills that are working to operate the tricycle.

P. E. N. S. BASKET PROJECT!

The P.E.N.S. Basket project is the major service project for the Bath Richfield Kiwanis. This service project provides Personal Essential NeedS  items to women and chidren entering the Summit County Hope and Healing Center (formerly known as the Summit County Batteed Women's Shelter). The P.E.N.S. basket contains a wide range of personal items including pillows, blankets, toothpaste, soaps, etc. The women usually enter the center with no personal possessions and the baskets give them a starter set of their own items to begin their residence.

The Bath Richfield Kiwanis provides more than 200 baskets each year to aid the women and children. 40% of the women admitted to the center also have children with them.

The Hope and Healing Center has notified the Kiwanis that the supply of baskets is low due to a large influx of new  residents. A basket build for 35 individual and 15 family baskets was scheduled for Thursday, June 27th. 50 Baskets were built with help from Copley-Fairlawn Kiwanis and 20 Kiwanis members and guests. Thanks for all the help!  Delivery to to Center tomorrow to replenish their stores.

KIWANIS CLUBS SUPPORT SCOUTS AT CAMP MANATOC

Kiwanis clubs from Summit, Portage and Cuyahoga Counties support scouts at Camp Mantoc by annually fixing up scout cabins. Kiwanis Clubs in the tri-county area adopt one or more cabins and fix, paint and landscape them each year on the first Saturday in June.

The Bath Richfield Kiwanis maintains the Health Lodge Cabin. Major projects for the Health Lodge over the last few years included installation and replacement of the floor boards. Also, all bunk mattresses were replaced.

Maintaining Scout  cabins is Kiwanis giving back to kids.

WE THANK OUR BUSINESS PARTNERS FOR THEIR SUPPORT!
